The Zambian Government shows interest in doing business with Rostselmash
A large government delegation of the Republic of Zambia led by Minister of Finance Bwalya Emmanuel Ng’andu and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Zambia to the Russian Federation Shedrek Chingembu Luwita has come on a visit to Rostselmash. The delegation also included senior officers and representatives from financial, defence, educational institutions of Zambia.
The guests were taken to the production site where combines and tractors are assembled, the corporate Academy, the museum of legacy agricultural machines; talks were held with the sales department management with detailed explanations provided on the capabilities and cost of state-of the-art equipment, purchase and payment terms.
The Rostselmash tour became a highlight of the Zambian delegation’s visit to Rostov region that was aimed at discussing in detail cooperation opportunities in agricultural business. According to a spokesman from the Rostov Government, Zambia has ambitious plans to foster the agricultural industry, including training of specialists and agricultural modernization by purchasing state-of-the-art equipment and promoting the internal agricultural engineering sector. The Zambian Government would like to have the Don area and Rostselmash as partners to support such plans.
- After visiting Rostselmash, we are confident in the company’s production capabilities. To run a farming business at a high, advanced level, you have to have equally advanced equipment. Rostselmash products meet these criteria. Investment in such equipment will surely yield a very good return, emphasized Zambian Minister of Finance Bwalya Emmanuel Ng’andu.
- As the Minister rightly noted, you cannot run a modern farm, if you don’t use some mechanical aids. The first time I saw Rostselmash equipment was at an exhibition in Moscow. I had to come here and see for myself that it is manufactured exactly here and looks exactly like that, explained the purpose of his visit Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Zambia to the Russian Federation Shedrek Chingembu Luwita.
Mr. Luwita added that he will forward all the information provided by Rostselmash to the Zambian Minister of Agriculture, Farmers’ Union who will then decide on practical areas of cooperation between the two sides.
