RSM 2375 and RSM 2400: the very Rostselmash tractors
The range of Rostselmash tractors, which are produced on the main site of the company in Russia, already includes three series and eight models. Still, the 2375 model remains perhaps the most recognizable. It can be said that this model is associated with the name Rostselmash. In the fall of 2018, a slightly more powerful RSM 2400 tractor joined the RSM 2375 model and now these two machines make up the RSM 2000 series. And these are indeed the very Rostselmash tractors.
After the opening of the tractor workshop, the RSM 2375 (and, accordingly, RSM 2400) design was improved, which made it possible to better adapt the tractors to our operating conditions, one might even say to our mentality. The localization of production by the fall of last year reached 70%. 1099 elements were manufactured directly on the production site of Rostselmash, 1190 parts were purchased by the company from domestic enterprises from 14 cities of Russia. Only the engine and transmission were imported. But, as Rostselmash promised, the degree of localization is growing.
Tractors of the RSM 2000 series are equipped with Quadshift 12x4 manual transmission of the OKUBO GEAR Japanese company. Rostselmash has been cooperating with this manufacturer since 1993, and now the partnership has reached a new level. In 2018, Rostselmash acquired a license from OKUBO GEAR for the production of transmissions, gear cases and differential gears. In November last year, the first experimental batch of manual transmissions and differential gears was manufactured at the Rostov production site. The company plans to completely transfer the production of manual transmissions to its facilities in 2021, but even now it is partially localized. It should be noted that few agricultural machine building enterprises can boast of such an achievement, since the manufacture of transmissions is a technologically complex process.
Thus, after the implementation of the project, the RSM 2375 and RSM 2400 tractors will have the only imported component - engines. We remind that all Rostselmash tractors are equipped with Cummins motors of series designed specifically for machinery that is operated under variable load conditions. They are adapted for round-the-clock operation without breaks, are loyal to cold starts, tolerant to the quality of fuel due to the presence of filter separators in the fuel system. Cummins engines are energy efficient: due to the optimal mixing of the air-fuel mixture and the correct operating mode, the fuel is burned to the maximum extent possible. This gives both economy and environmental friendliness — the engines comply with Tier 3 emission standard without additional cleaning systems.
Why RSM 2375 | 2400 tractors are the perfect choice
RSM 2375 | 2400 tractors are very well designed machines. On the one hand they are highly efficient and durable, on the other hand they are comfortable and simple. This is the best combination of benefits, which is difficult to achieve.
Tractors are equipped with QSM11 engines with power (nom/max) of 380/405 and 405/433 hp for RSM 2375 and RSM 2400 models, respectively. Dual wheels, flexible frame with an original reliable joint, almost perfect weight distribution along the axles, axle differential locks provide high flotation ability, low slipping coefficient, reduction in specific ground pressure (pressure with dual wheels is only 690 g/cm2). Owners say that RSM 2375 | 2400 tractors are really capable to operate in the field at slightly higher soil moisture than many other machines, and they behave perfectly on rugged terrain. Tractors can also be used as vehicles — trailer brakes are already installed in the basic package. Machines are able to move at a speed up to 35 km/h.
In the basic configuration tractors are equipped with a drawbar with a carrying capacity of 2722 kg (optionally with a reinforced one up to 4082 kg). Upon request, a three-point CAT IVN/III hitch (with quick coupling frame) with a carrying capacity of 5900 kg with a position control function can be installed directly at the factory or by dealers. PTO shaft of 1000 rpm is also available as an option. The hydraulic system capacity of 170 l/min for the RSM 2375 and 220 l/min for the RSM 2400 model is sufficient to aggregate tractors with wide seed drills. The set includes 4 pairs of ½” hydraulic couplings, a pressure-free backflow line and 1 pair of ¾“ connecting couplings.
When we talked about the conformity of machines to our mentality, we meant both operation and maintenance. These tractors are very easy to operate — the controls are intuitive, which is noted by all owners. RSM 2375 | 2400 are comfortable: the basic configuration includes everything for convenient work — ergonomic adjustable chair, air conditioning, heater, air filtration system, all-round visibility, well-focused working lighting.
There are no excessive electronics in the machines, however their basic configuration already includes the Agrotronic remote monitoring system. And optionally you can install an autopilot/autosteer with GPS/GLONASS control. There are also ready-made factory versions of tractors with a pre-installed autopilot option. Such systems provide an increase in the quality of operation and productivity by about 10% simply by minimizing overlaps and omissions.
As for maintenance, according to the owners, the tractors do not have components and assemblies with difficult access. Therefore, the machine operator spends no more than 20–25 minutes for complete daily maintenance. The pneumatic system with a receiver also comes in handy when it is necessary to pump up the wheels and blow off all the components that need cleaning.
Rostselmash has the most extensive network of technical centres among agricultural producers, which allows them to choose the most suitable service point. The company also offers convenient tools to acquire the machinery — on lease or on credit on conditions that are comfortable for the buyer.
