ACROS 585 Grain Harvester

10 March 2020

ACROS 585 is a multi-purpose grain harvester which meets high European quality, performance, safety and comfort standards. It operates efficiently in any prepared soil conditions to harvest spiked grains, leguminous plants and seeds. In 2015 the machine underwent a number of significant changes that made it more interesting for farmers. It should also be noted that the manufacturer’s warranty period for the harvester is 2 years.

Upgrade

While being upgraded, ACROS 585 was outfitted with an even more comfortable and efficient workplace, a single hydraulic coupling, optimised hydraulic line and wiring routing, a new feeder house, and a moisture-protected tank. Original red and white colour scheme is still used for the machines’ appearance, but black components are used instead of grey ones, which has made the combine harvester’s look aesthetically perfected.

Cab

Every single part — from the overhead architecture to the control system — was improved. The cab has now a new ergonomic PILOT operator seat with five adjustments and a weight sensor, a new steering column with three adjustment options to ensure convenience for an operator of any size.

The air conditioning and heating system with a new and improved airflow scheme ensures that the set climate conditions are maintained. Improved noise insulation and dust proofing of the cab contribute to the comfort as well. For the comfort of operators we provided 4 glove compartments and a refrigerator compartment where soft drinks or food may be kept.

A panel in the right armrest of the seat and a 16-function ergonomic joystick are used to control the operating element and systems, and all the information about the condition of any unit and ongoing processes is displayed on a ten-inch colour touch screen. Settings have become much simpler due to the significantly improved interface.

Single Hydraulic Coupling

The single hydraulic coupling for the unified headers makes connection and replacement of any operating elements much simpler. Moreover, the design prevents any contaminants from penetrating into the hydraulic system. The layout of the hydraulic circuit itself (and on-board wiring) has also been improved, which has made its maintenance easier.

New Feeder House

The new extended feeder house has no receiving beater. The design improvement has simultaneously resulted in several advantages: a higher capacity, no more need to reset the feeder house for corn harvesting, an improved visibility of the cutter bar, simpler header installation/removal from the trailer.

Reaping and Threshing

About 60 % of Latvian landowners grow grain crops the average yield of which exceeds 30 metric centners/ha, as observed in the past twelve years. In view of the said rates, it is important to harvest grain crops quickly and with minimum losses to ensure the highest profitability of a farm.

The manufacturer offers multi-purpose 5-6-7-9 meter PowerStream headers as the main operative element. The efficient Schumacher cutter bar allows setting of the culm cutting height from 60mm and can be efficiently used for low or laid grain together with crop lifters (in its basic configuration). Moreover, the knife’s high speed ensures steady reaping at high speeds and with high moisture content in the crop.

Choosing the right cutting width enables optimal loading of the thresher-separator unit which, in turn, provides a quick, complete and very gentle threshing. This is ensured by a large-diameter drum with a smooth long concave, a 7-step straw walker, and a rotor-type re-threshing device for the most gentle grain threshing. In terms of their performance, the machines compete head to head with their counterparts equipped with multi-drum threshing systems. Moreover, they are much better than the counterparts in terms of grain shattering and damage almost no straw which is important for livestock business.

The straw chopper has a number of features that distinguish the combine harvester in its category. Thus, the device has 76 knives and 59 shear knives which ensure good chopping. Having a two-speed drive (controlled in the cab) the unit is not overloaded when used first for grain crops and then for corn, and the knives’ wear is 2 times less. Straw can be windrowed or spread within the controlled width (up to 9m).

Advantages and Service

The engines of farming machines are to meet strict environmental requirements in Europe. To meet the said requirements, the EGR system is used in the combine harvester’s motor unit while our competitors use SCR that requires considerable additional expenses.

As for other advantages, it is safe to say that the basic configuration of ACROS 585 is better than that of the majority of the machines of a higher category of any other well-known brands. These include but not limited to the straw chopper, semi-automatic hitch, fuel consumption control system… And of course the combine harvester is still equipped with an air compressor.

Our service centres have all necessary equipment for professional and full service of the manufacturer’s machines. The company is closely monitoring the availability of spare parts and accessories, and delivers any ordered units as soon as possible.
