F Series Forage Harvesters

3 December 2019

Rostselmash is expected to shortly launch the production of new forage harvesters, which are based on a global platform and differ significantly from current DON 680M and RSM 1401 both mechanically and intelligently. The manufacturer currently announces four machines in two series: RSM 1300 (F 1000 Series) and RSM 2450 | 2550 | 2650 (F 2000 Series).

General

All models now come with hydraulically driven axles and larger tires for better traction performance, operator comfort, and easier autopilot installation. All combines are available in AWD versions. All machines traditionally come with air compressors with a receiver.

The chopping rotor, kernel processor and crop accelerator are belt driven directly from the engine. In turn, the feeder rolls are powered from the chopping rotor, and the attachment units from the feeder. This arrangement allowed synchronizing the speed of all components for a better overall process. Now, the length of cut can be changed on the go and the sprockets need no longer be swapped.

The coupling components are provided with multicouplers and quick hitch systems. Attachments barely take about five minutes to connect. Components of the ground contour following system are located on the feeder frame to bring them as close as possible to the feeder and attachment. This eliminates dead spots and contributes to a greater process stability at any allowable speeds.

The feeders have 4 rolls, a 680 mm wide inlet opening, hydraulic drive. Removable filler plates can be fitted over the feeder roll fishbacks for a less aggressive feeding of the crop material. The components pre-compress the crop material with a force of 2,600 kg and create a dense even flow towards the chopper. The lift capacity of the unit was increased so the machines can now accept headers with a higher performance. Also, the feeder no longer needs to be removed to replace chopper knives.

All models are designed for roll-type kernel processors with a 20% difference in rotation of the rolls (190 mm in diameter) relative to each other. They ensure that at least 98% of grain in the dough stage can be hulled. Mechanical clearance adjustment is expected in base, with electrical adjustment as option.

F 2000 Series Forage Harvesters

F series forage harvesters are recommended for large farms with a large livestock population and, accordingly, with a large wet forage requirement. RSM 2450 | 2550 | 2650 are can process from 4,000 tons of silage per machine.

Great attention was given to process automation: almost all operations can be run by one or two touches on the screen or by pressing one or two buttons on the control panel and joystick.

F 1000 Series Forage Harvesters

The RSM F 1300 forager is recommended for use by medium-size farms. One machine can process up to 10,000 kg of silage to be placed in storage. For the basic specifications of RSM F 1300 machines, refer to Table 2.

Foragers in the two series come with Comfort Cab and Adviser III on-board system identical in terms of functionality, ergonomics and comfort to the high-end models of grain harvesters (RSM 161, TORUM 785).
