Rostselmash at AGRITECHNICA 2019: the Week of Success

19 November 2019

The AGRITECHNICA-2019 international exhibition is over; Saturday is the last working day of the exposition. The participants go home and this is the time to sum up the results. This week has been both productive, and successful for Rostselmash as it reached arrangements on cooperation, shaped plans, but, what is most important, it received feedback from those for whom new agricultural machines are developed, that is agribusiness professionals from all over the world.

Here is some feedback from the visitors in the official exhibition group on Facebook. This is a combination of Russian, German, Spanish, Turkish, French, English: “Great experience. A lot of exhibitors.” “Cool meetings with awesome people”; “Next time I will spare an entire week to visit the exhibition” and this is only a small portion. The opinions are positive and almost every person acknowledges that the exhibition is not the mere opportunity to show and see new technical products, but rather the exchange of experience. From this perspective, Agritechnica is one of the main events in the industry. It is this exhibition that outlines the prospects of farming and allows growers, machine builders and service developers to check their own path of growth against general trends.

The overview of trends was provided by Dr. Markus Demmel, Chairman of the Commission for Innovation. His article posted on the Agritechnica website lists a number of trends. Those relating to digital systems are of special interest. Mr. Demmel highlighted over 70 developments in this area that were presented at the exhibition, while paying special attention to the development of the security systems based on artificial intelligence. One of such systems, RSM Night Vision, won a silver medal at the contest of innovative developments. This is an unusual event: Rostselmash became the first Russian winner in the history of AGRITECHNICA. “This victory belongs not only to Rostselmash, but also the entire Russian agricultural machine building industry. Agritechnica Innovation Award is among the most prestigious special contests. For manufacturers, the recognition by the panel of judges is the result of many months of engineering investigations,” the media cited Valery Maltsev, General Director of Rostselmash.

The success at Agritechnica became a kind of checkpoint for the Company and was not limited to the momentous award. Rostselmash received the delegations from Germany, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Estonia, held negotiations with the representatives from Turkey, Egypt, Mongolia, India, Lithuania, Austria, China and other countries. Certainly, the sign of recognition was also the attention of the main visitors of the exhibition, i.e. European farmers.  The attention to the machines and systems brought by the Company and their appreciation even now allow making optimistic forecasts, and not only in terms of business proposals. The exhibition proved that the Company is developing in the right area and anticipates the global trends in the industry.

Dr. Reinhard Grandke, General Director of German Agricultural Company, when estimating the amount of current changes in farming, emphasized that the global system of agriculture is diverse and presented by many producers (while mentioning the growth in the agrarian sphere of Russia, the Netherlands and France), and machine manufacturers are facing the challenge of developing digital technology to make the farming more efficient and more environmentally responsible. “Today the agriculture is not just facing the food safety problem of the increasing world population. The industry should achieve global objectives such as climate and environment protection,” Mr. Grandke said.

The spectrum of solutions presented at the Rostselmash stand and designed to achieve the set objective confirms this message. “Our goal is to provide the opportunities for a more reasonable use of resources. Today the farming is a high-technology industry with a huge potential, we are not even on the threshold of another revolution, but in the very middle of it,” Maksim Nakhabo, Marketing Director of Rostselmash, estimates the Company’s development strategy. The digital solutions, new high-tech products, unique engineering developments, agricultural machines and systems allowing for the development of new, smart and responsible farming – all this diversity was gathered at the Rostselmash stands and presented to the world.

The week spent in Hannover became literally the week of success for Rostselmash. The Company’s employees are sure that they will repeat it in two years. We can speak about interim results so far because the official verification of statistics will require some time, however, the main result of participation in the largest European international exhibition can be summed up even now. This is the trust of hundreds of thousands of consumers around the globe.
