RSM 2400: Learn About the New Tractor!
The RSM 2000 series includes two tractors, RSM 2375 and RSM 2400. However, the 2400 version has been kind of overshadowed for some time by its renowned predecessor. Now, RSM 2400’s are operating in the fields, and we have the first impressions from the owners.
Here’s an overview of the features of the RSM 2000 tractors. These are AWD articulated agricultural tow vehicles designed for all types of field applications. The open frame design offers a high “flexibility”, articulating up to 42 deg. horizontally, and up to a total (up/down) of 30 deg. vertically, contributing greatly to machine stability and steerability on rugged terrain. Axles with outboard final drives are designed for dual and triple wheels (duals are traditionally in base on Rostselmash tractors). And the wheels are very easy to fit and remove and do not require any special tools or fixtures.
The tractors are powered by Cummins QSM 11 engines, which have proven to be very robust, rugged and durable. Unlike most of Rostselmash tractors from other series, the RSM 2000 machines come solely with a manual transmission for maximum performance.
For many farms, a key quality is still the overall simplicity of design, control, and minimum of electronics. This mostly concerns farms using experienced aged operators, with a good repair infrastructure. As such, RSM 2000 tractors are very appealing to such users because everything is clear in the tractors, including the routing of hydraulic lines and wiring. Therefore, one can diagnose and troubleshoot most problems themselves.
All tractor functions are controlled very much like on legacy Russian tractors - levers, switches, traditional dashboard, etc. So, no special training is needed to operate these tractors. The only thing the operator will need is to closely read the guidelines for selecting optimal gears for different implements.
RSM 2400 entered production in April 2019.
