Newcomer from Rostselmash – F Series Forage Harvester
Rostselmash presented its new forage harvesters, which are based on a global platform and differ significantly from current DON 680M and RSM 1401 in terms of both “mechanics” and “intelligence”.
General
All models received hydraulically operated axles and larger tires, which automatically increased driving characteristics of machines, comfort for the operator, and simplified the autopilot installation. All combine harvesters are available in all-wheel-drive versions. As before all machines are equipped with air compressors with a receiver.
The chopping drum, kernel processor and crop material accelerator are driven by the belt drive directly from the engine. In turn, the feeder rollers are powered by the chopping drum and the adapter tools are powered by the feeder. This pattern allowed to synchronize the rotation speed of all assemblies, which is beneficial for the entire process. Now, the cutting length of crop material can be changed on the move and the sprocket replacement is not required any more.
The attachment units are equipped with single hydraulic connectors and quick hitching systems. Attachment of adapters involves about five minutes only. Elements of the ground contour following system are located on the feeder frame, which minimizes the distance between the feeder and the adapter. As a result, dead spots were eliminated and conditions for greater process stability at all permissible speeds were created.
The feeders have 4 roller with the receiving opening 680 mm wide and a hydraulic drive. Removable covers can be installed on the feeder roller combs to change the level of “aggressiveness” of the crop material feed. The assemblies press the crop material with a force of 2,600 kg and form its dense even flow to the chopper. The load lifting capacity of the assembly was increased, which enables attachment of more efficient headers to the machine. In addition, dismantling the feeder to replace the knives on the chopper in not required any more.
For all models roller kernel processors are provided with a 20% difference in roller rotation (190 mm in diameter) relative to each other. They provide at least 98% decortication of grain in yellow ripeness. The basic package includes a mechanical clearance adjustment, electric adjustment is available as an option.
F 2000 Series Forage Harvesters
F series forage harvesters are recommended for large farms with significant livestock population and, accordingly, producing large amounts of wet forage. RSM 2450 | 2550 | 2650 harvesters are capable to process from 4,000 tons of silage per one machine.
Great attention is paid to process automation: almost all operations are initiated by one or two touches on the screen or by pressing one or two buttons on the control panel and joystick. Basic specifications of F 2000 series machines are shown in Table 1.
